Josh's Christmas Present...

Here are a few pictures I took while making Josh's Christmas present...

I am pleased to report that thus far Josh is having as much fun opening his calender every day as I did in making it. I was worried about how he would like it, and he loves it!

BTW 129 days left until Josh's Graduation :-)

Grades...Christmas...etc.

So we got our grades this week. I am very pleased with my grades. I was able to pull out three A's and A- and a B for a semester GPA of 3.66 bringing my overall GPA up to a 3.08. Now I have three semesters to bring my GPA up to a 3.30, I am not even entirely sure if that is possible, but I am determined to try.

On top of all this I am getting pretty excited for Christmas. I have not even finished the Christmas shopping yet, but I am hoping to get it done Sunday when I go shopping with my friend Katie. The presents that I do have are pretty much all wrapped and ready to go. All that I really have left is finishing Josh's surprise. I am excited to share what I made, but as Josh reads my blog on occasion I must wait until after Christmas, I do intend to include some pictures if I can get some.

This past week I worked every day 8:30-4:30. I know that my next paycheck is gonna be pretty nice, which is good as there will be bills to pay. Next week I am working Monday and Tuesday the same hours, which will help make the paycheck all the nicer. I do enjoy my job, but I am pretty sure I am not cut out to work at a daycare all day every day for the rest of my life.

After a long week and not a whole lot of sleep, I really need to sleep. This past week the electricity went out no less then twice. One time the electricity went out in the middle of the night waking my up, making me all the more tired for work. The second time the electricity went out it was while I was watching the end of Mamma Mia with my friend Kristi. At least that time the movie was almost over, so really all I missed was the end credits. By the way, the movie was pretty good, much better than I had expected. Well once again I am off to bed, and hopefully I will be able to fall asleep...

sleep...

It is 12:15 AM Monday December 15, 2008. I should be sleeping, but have found that I am wide awake. Tomorrow I begin a week and a half of 8 hour work days, 8:30-4:30 every day. That is way I should be sleeping, since I need to be awake at 7 AM. So needless to say I am going to be one tired cookie tomorrow, unless of course somebody declared Mankato a winter emergency and all nonessential University employees get the day off, then I don't have to work. Alas that is totally unlikely despite the -40 wind chills. At least we don't have to go outside any farther than running from the car to work and from work back to the car. And it is nice that I have the remote starter, if the car will start at all with those wind chills...anyways I think typing is starting to make me sleepy, so I am going to try once again to sleep. If I don't fall asleep this time I might be back for another blog post...hope not though so I have a chance at getting a semi-decent amount of sleep. Good Night world!!!

My Poor, Poor Knee

I had my yearly check up with my doctor. I learned much. I also got a shock, I discovered that I dislocated my right knee cap, probably when I was in 7th grade. I got my first non-dental x-ray. It explains a lot about the various pain in my knee. I also was able to get an inhaler, which I have been without for years. Also I learned that my crazy reaction to my birth control pills was not overly uncommon, and I also was able to get the brand of birth control changed, hopefully that will help. Of course I got my flu shot, I need it for work, I don't want to get the flu. That is my doctor visit in a nut shell...the whole thing took pret-near 3 hours.

Papers

Today I was thinking about what I need to accomplish for the end of the semester in just over a month...I count (hopefully without missing any) no less than 6 papers which I have to write, not including essay exams. Some of these papers are short two page papers others are up to 7 pages in length. My question brought on by this surge of papers is why do they all have to due at the end of the semester, why can't they be spread out. Of course that also brings up the point that I could spread them out myself, which I have been working at, but this semester I have already written several papers (I think 4). I don't know why I decided to take 3 history classes this semester, while it has been fun it is gonna be a ton of work in the next 4 weeks.

Knitting

I have not been blogging much lately...this is a combination of both school and knitting. I have been spending a lot of time on school work. Also my free time has been dominated by my hobby, knitting.

For those of you who don't know when a friend has a baby I like to make a blanket for their baby. Lately several people I know have been having babies, so I have been knitting like crazy. I told my sister I would post some pictures of my knitting projects, so here goes my attempt...

Better Times...sort of

So this week has been an interesting week. Yesterday was a great day for me...I went out to lunch with my friend Katie. After lunch we had to go and get her a new cell phone, as her old phone was stolen this past week...it took forever to get everything worked out but it was. It is sad that her old phone was stolen, but I think she is gonna like her new phone...But we still managed to have a good time. Also this week we finally got a new lamp for our bedroom, it is nice to be able to use the light switch again. In the mail of Saturday we got our CBD order we placed a week ago. So I finally have my own copy of Captivating and can hardly wait to read it! We also got in that order the book, work book, and DVD of Love & Respect I can hardly wait to get started on that. Both books have come highly recommended from various people. Besides all the fun things, we have also done a lot of laundry, and we have to clean our apartment this week...and there is always more than enough homework to go around....

Hard Day

I unfortunatly have a very rough day to report :( Today Josh stayed home sick while I went to class and work. I ended up having to park clear across campus from my job...so I barely made it to class on time, after which I booked it to work barely making it there on time. I then worked for the next fourish hours. I was unable to leave work on time because I was still setting up the snack tables and we were waiting for four teachers to get back from an orientation meeting. After that I had a fifteen minute walk back to my car, when I finally got there my cell phone was dying so instead of going to Wal-Mart to exchange a pair of jeans and to get medicine for my cough I had to come home and charge my cell phone. Now I have to go to Wal-Mart after my night class, and also means that it will take longer to return my pants as Customer Service will be closed...It is just been a rough day all around. I will be happy to go to sleep tonight...

School Starts Tomorrow

In the morning I will begin my Fall '08 Semester. I have to admit I am not overly thrilled with the thought. And I am suffering from the usual presemester jitters, need to get through the first week. I am looking to have a great semester with exceptional grades :)

Not 4.0 :(

I am saddened, but still happy because of my summer grades. While I did not manage to pull off a 4.0 of straight A's I managed to pull off 2 A's and 1 B for a 3.5 bringing my overall GPA back up past a 3.0 to a 3.01. I hope to continue with bringing my GPA back up as high as I can. Hopefully I can pull a 4.0 off this coming semester. I will be taking History of the Middle Ages, History of the British Empire, Modern Asian History, Archery, and a class about contracts and similar business law topics...so overall I think I can tackle this next round of classes with flying colors...

I got an A

So today I just have to brag...I got an A on my accounting test I took yesterday. I have to say I am extremely happy about that, it helps me feel good about the possibility of actually pulling off a 4.0 this summer. It is my goal for summer school to get straight A's, and I am taking 4 courses, two accounting classes, American Sign Language II and one history class. I defiantly have my work cut out for me. I will have to try and keep you all updated on how I am doing this summer at school. Unfortunately not everything today was happy, but I won't blog about work, confidentiality which is very understandable. Right now though I have things that I need to get done, cleaning...in the time I have been married I have learned that having your own apartment means there is always something that needs to be cleaned...

Cleaning the Bathroom

For anyone who knows me they know I hate cleaning the bathroom...Unfortunately in our apartment it is my job to clean the bathroom. Well today I really cleaned the bathroom, really cleaned, not just wiping up the messes but actually moving everything and scrubbing away the grim. I am really very proud of this accomplishment! It may seem silly to some, but for me to really clean really is something to be proud of.
